Passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2015 surrounded by her family at her home in Peterborough at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with cancer. Anne was the wife and best friend of Don Greer. She was the loving mother of Andrew (Tegan), Erin and the cherished grandmother of Kieran, Cale and Carsten. Daughter of the late George and Peggy Moreton. Anne will be fondly remembered by her siblings Deborah O'Brien (Chuck), Elizabeth Marshall (Joe), Barry Moreton (Deb) and her many nieces and nephews. Anne was born in Sarnia Ontario and during her early years moved with her family many times between Sarnia, Toronto and Edmonton related to her father’s work with ESSO Imperial. She was an excellent student, graduating from the U. of Guelph in 1974. After living in Guelph and Scarborough, Anne finally settled with her family in Peterborough in 1992. She took pleasure in the simple things in life like watching the sunset and taking the scenic route. Anne enjoyed spending her time playing the piano, cottaging, sailing, boating, dining out, arranging flowers, gardening, lunches with friends and she was a generous volunteer and contributor to many charities. She also adored spending time with all of her grandsons and took a special interest in her many friends and neighbors. Our sweet mother was a consummate nurturer and hostess and was the beating heart of every family event. We will miss her wit and wisdom, her grace and elegance, as well as her beautiful appearance and smile. She showed us the meaning of unconditional love, unselfishness and devotion. The family wishes to thank the remarkable staff at Kingston General Hospital, Dr. Beamish of Peterborough, as well as Anne's personal care givers at CCAC and We Care. In keeping with Anne’s wishes cremation has taken place. Friends will be received for visiting from 7-9 pm on Thursday, February 5th, followed by a memorial in the chapel at 11am on Friday, February 6th, 2015 at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.comstockfuneralhome.com
