Born In Edmonton, England, Bill served in the British Military/ Airborne Paratrooper before immigrating to Canada in 1951. Bill was the Light Heavy weight boxing champion of Ontario 1954/55, and then formed Boxing Ontario in 1972. He served as chief official, Judge and a referee for eighteen years. Bill officiated boxing at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal and represented Canada as an official in seven countries. Bill was proudly inducted into the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
Bill worked at OMC for 36 years and volunteered for the Credit Union for 47 years. He also volunteered for Show Place, Maple Ridge Senior Center, Seniors Games and held position and membership for over 50 years with Branch 52 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
He leaves behind him his wife of 68 years Leila, his daughter Julie and her husband Joe, son Norman and his wife Rose.
