I lost my Grandma (Betty Kidd) to cancer when I was 6 years old. It was a few years later when Grandpa remarried that we (all 6 of us grandchildren) were blessed with "Grandma Ann" as we called her. And oh how we loved her! Some specific memories that come to mind: 
- Watching her "put her face on" in the morning when we would visit her and Grandpa overnight in Peterborough. I loved looking at all of her makeup. 
- She let each of us 4 granddaughters choose a ring from her jewelry box to keep, I think I was about 15 at the time. I chose a simple white gold band and have worn it every day ever since! It's even more special to me now, with her passing. 
- She always wore the brightest colours! She was such a stylish and classy lady. 
- One summer at the cottage when my sisters and I were skinny dipping at the cottage we jokingly asked her to join us... and she did! 
- Although she was getting on in years, she was determined to use her computer and later her iPad to send emails and whatnot, and would most often send her messages in all caps. 
- When my husband and I would visit her in Peterborough she would gladly take us out to a fancy restaurant for dinner. She was extremely generous. 
- She loved getting fancy pedicures. She would come to the cottage and show us her latest designs and sing the praises of  the esthetician who painted the dainty flowers. 
- She LOVED cats. She would tell us stories about the ones she had through the years. 
- The stethoscope that my 4 year old daughter has in her doctor toys is the same one that Grandma Ann used while nursing. She passed it on to my sister Jessie for her nursing training, who then passed it on to my daughter to add to her toy medical supplies when we couldn't find one in a toy store anywhere. 
- She had the BEST laugh. If you knew her, you know!

Grandma Ann, I love you. I am so thankful that you came into our family. xo

Ann (Amer) Brooks
I met my dear friend Ann in 1960 when we both started our training  at Civic.We have been thru great times,hard times,sad times but all done with laughter and love.Ann was very kind,loyal &a great friend.I will miss her jokes&all the laugh’s we’ve shared over  many years.
So sorry to all of Ann’s family.

My thoughts are with Ann's family.  I met Ann in 1970 at Civic Hospital.  We worked together on 3 west.  She was a great nurse and we had wonderful times nursing together and such fun and crazy times outside the hospital.  Everyone loved Ann.  She was  kind and cared so much for others.  Best of all, she had an amazing sense of humour.  I will always cherish  these memories and good times with Ann forever.

Ann was a fun loving, kind and wonderful person.  We both cherish many happy times working with her. She was "one of a kind" and a great Nurse

Ann was my cousin, and I grew up spending a lot of time with her.  We made many memories together as children and adults. One of Ann’s favourite places was Hawaii.  She worked hard in her adult life and I loved to see her in awe when she was able to travel.  
I miss you Ann, but memories are a gift.

Someone who welcomed me as a neighbour and became a dear friend. I will miss her forever.
