It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of our dear friend Carol on May 7th, 2025 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre after five weeks of illness in her 82nd year. She was the daughter of the late Ilona and Joseph Vanecko.
Born in England in 1944, she emigrated to Canada with her parents after WWII to Lincoln, ON near St. Catharines. She enjoyed a variety of careers throughout her life including secretary and administrative assistant in Ontario and England. She settled in Peterborough with a career in teaching and owner of Vanecko Communications. She enjoyed connecting with people and belonged to the Rotarians and volunteered at the New Canadians Centre. She will be missed by her many friends, her brother Andrew (Kathy), nephew Joseph, sister Penny Harder (deceased) (Robert), and nephew Stephen.
Following Carol’s wishes, Aquamation has taken place through Ashburnham Funeral Home, Interment is at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Peterborough Regional Hospital Foundation.
