Peacefully at Fairhaven Home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Reverend William Campbell McNeil, who predeceased her in 2000. Cherished mother of Nancy Ross (Jason) and John McNeil (Karen). Devoted grandmother to Ethan (Ella), Aidan, Tristan, Kaitlyn (Connor), and Danielle (Zach). Proud great-grandmother to William. Dear twin sister of the late Robert Franklin (late Mary Lou). Carolyn will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Born and raised in Belleville, ON, Carolyn attended Albert College, where she formed lasting friendships that continued throughout her life. She went on to graduate from the Toronto Western Hospital School of Nursing, a profession she was passionate about. Her close nursing classmates, along with the many friends she made along the way, will greatly miss her warm presence.
Carolyn’s life journey was shaped by her roles as both a devoted minister's wife and a dedicated nurse. Together with her beloved husband, Bill, she lived in various communities, including Toronto, Valetta, ON, Neepawa, MB, and Trail, BC. In the 1980s, after Bill’s retirement, the couple returned to Ontario, where Carolyn began her career as a visiting nurse with VON. During those years, they also enjoyed time at their cottage on beautiful Lake St. Peter.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jordan Crane, Terri-Lynn Brown NP, Jaime Gee, and all the staff on Westview 5 at Fairhaven LTC. The care and compassion they showed Carolyn during her final year, along with their unwavering support at the end of her life, will always be deeply appreciated.
Visitation will be held at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery will follow the reception. In memory of Carolyn, donations may be made to the Benevolent Fund at St. Stephen’s.
