Passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the age of 59.
She was the devoted mother of Hailey (Sam Thompson) and Michael King, and her world truly revolved around her two granddaughters, Isabella and Rosalie. As their "Gramma," she spent every possible moment sharing her love of nature and life with them. She will also be deeply missed by her loyal puppy, Freya, who is a constant source of joy and companionship.
She is survived by her loving mother, Carrol King, and is now reunited with her father, Gordon King, and her brother, Glenn King. She is lovingly remembered by Glenn's wife, Tracy Miller and their son Alex, as well as a wide circle of close friends and extended family who were lucky enough to call her a friend.
While her creative spirit was well-known, her heart belonged entirely to her family. Cheryl’s caring nature extended into her professional life as well. She worked as a dedicated Personal Support Worker at Burnbrae Gardens, where her compassion and hard work made a difference for her residents. Cheryl will be remembered for her vibrant creativity and nurturing warmth. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen baking something delicious to share. Cheryl had a rare gift for making everything around her a little brighter and more beautiful.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at PRHC for their incredible care and kindness during Cheryl’s time there.
In keeping with Cheryl’s vibrant spirit, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date when the flowers she loved so much are in bloom.
In Cheryl’s memory, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
