David Garfield Jenkins

Passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022 at the age of 94. David is predeceased by his beloved wife Peggy (2007), and one son. He is survived by his loving wife June, four children, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and his step-family.

He was a hard working man. He served in the British Air Force and had a deployment in India. David immigrated to Canada from his birthplace of Bridgend, Wales in 1955. David drove with McCallum Transport in Oshawa, ON for many years. David and Peggy opened their own business, Camsport Truck Cap and Trailer Sales in Newcastle, ON. David and Peggy then owned and operated Sandaraska Park in Pontypool, ON.

David lived a full and happy life with family, friends, auctions and travel. He loved to wear his Hawaiian shirts, read the newspaper, drink his tea and watch the news daily. He lived in Wales, and over the years had homes in Florida, Edmonton, Whitby, Newcastle, Pontypool, Peterborough, and most recently in Scarborough.

David’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Shepherd Lodge in Scarborough for their compassionate care of him for the past three years.
