Donald Mervyn Welsh

Donald Mervyn Welsh born May 10th, 1935 at Toronto General Hospital, passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Center on September 13th, 2021. He is lovingly survived and greatly missed by his wife of 58 years, Betty Ann (Kellett) and is the proud father of Paul (Lauren), Bryan (Cathy) and Collin (Julia). A loving grandfather of Niko, Harper, Ben, Luke, Samantha (Jason), Megan (Donny) and great-grandfather to Mariah, Briella, Emerson, Jeremiah, Kash, and Lincoln. He will also be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Verda (Short) and William Welsh and sisters Fern, Dorothy, and Ruby and survived by sister Marge.

Don grew up on a farm near Exeter, Ontario and never lost his love of farm life. He began his Bell Canada career at a very young age and later became a Right of Way Manager, retiring after nearly 40 years of service. His love of church choirs kept him involved and connected to the community, including Bethel United Church in rural Omemee where he lived for more than 30 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road on Saturday December 4, 2021 at 1pm. Proof of Covid vaccination required for entry into funeral home. Inurnment at Little Lake Cemetery.
