Doreen Elva Jean Weeks

At the age of 79 after a courageous battle with cancer, Doreen Weeks passed away at Royal Gardens in Peterborough on February 28th, 2013. Doreen was the beloved daughter of Jack Sleeper (deceased) and Evelyn Sleeper of Belleville. Doreen was predeceased by her husbands Ross Mason and Robert Weeks and her sister June Knapton. Doreen is survived by her sons Steven Mason (Diana) of Thunder Bay and David Mason (Maureen) of Edson, Alberta, her sister Carol Goerke (Fred) of Belleville, her many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her step-children Susan Esposito (Angelo) of Port Colbourne and Bob Weeks (Greta) of Port Colbourne. Doreen will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, relatives, her brothers-in-law, Harry Mason and Dick Knapton, her sister-in-law, Irma Mason, and many friends, especially friends Marie Ferguson, Joan Tennant both of Peterborough and Kathleen Neill of Belleville. Doreen’s family would like to express their deep appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Royal Gardens and PRHC for the kindness and care given to Doreen during her illness. Doreen was a generous person and supported many charities. After her retirement from the Bank of Montreal, Doreen enjoyed traveling the world, and spent many winters in Florida and many summers at the Cottage. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, on Monday March 4, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., with visiting from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Reverend Robert Ball officiating.
