Ed Davies

Passed away peacefully at Sakura House, Woodstock, on Friday, January 7, 2011 in his 73rd year. Devoted husband of Donna (nee Sanders) for 51 years. Cherished Dad of Stephen (Sylvie) of Trenton, Susan (Craig) Howe of Tillsonburg, and Cindy (Steve) Harrison of Belleville. Beloved Grandpa of Eddie & Samantha Davies (Trenton), Carissa Howe (Ottawa), Jessica Manlow (Justin)(Belleville), Katlyn and Alana Jones (Belleville); great- Grandpa of Rylan Manlow. He will be missed by his dog, Millie. Survived by his sister-in-law Margaret Sanders (Peterborough). Ed was predeceased by in-laws Ed & Marita (nee Corbin) Sanders; brothers-in-law Harold and Arthur Sanders. Ed was a member of the Ontario Provincial Police for 30 years and enjoyed every minute of it. He and Donna and family had many postings and made many long term friends along the way. Ed started his career in policing in 1960 in Cochrane, other stops along his journey included Lindsay, Kingston, Belleville, Tillsonburg and Woodstock; Ed retired in 1990. He and Donna spent the next 10 winters in Bonita Springs, Florida. Most recently residing in Hickory Hills in Tillsonburg and enjoyed many activities. Ed loved life, his family and his job. Funeral service has taken place at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, (705) 745-4683.
