Lorna, Knowing the strong faith you exhibit on a regular basis would indicate that somewhere in your family experiences you have been taught how to walk in that faith. Having walked this same road with losing both parents and a sister, I know the path, and I know the peace that can come from our Almighty Power on an ongoing basis. Dear Trevor and family--I am sure that there was great rejoicing in heaven yesterday when Edith passed through the veil. It is sweet to think that she is now at peace and not suffering anymore. Dear Trevor and family: It is so hard to believe that Edith is gone, she was one of my best friends, a friend of the heart, she was truly an amazing and talented woman. Edith was dedicated to her husband her family and to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was always a missionary at heart and wanted to share the gospel with everyone. She loved her family and talked lovingly of them. Edith was good to everyone. She blessed so many lives with her love and service. She was especially good working with children. She adored them and often did special things for children in need. I loved her and will miss her. In lieu of flowers we will be making a donation to the Venice Ward Missionary Fund in Edith's memory as I know this is what she would have wanted. Dear Trevor and family: Our hearts are heavy today with the news of Edith's passing, but we know she is in a better place and is without pain now. She was a great lady and we were privileged to know her. What an inspiration she was to everyone who knew her. She had so many talents and was so generous of her time and energy. We would like to express our tender care and concern for your hearts at this difficult time. The Dearer the Soul the Deeper the loss. We were lucky enough to have met Edith in Peterborough at the Ward Christmas party in Dec 06'. Mark especially has many fond memories of Edith when she was his cub master when he was young. When we were married I remember she took great care to purchase a gift that was just right we still use it every day. That is just how she is kind and generous thinking of others. She is a lovely, kind woman and we are grateful to have been able to have been blessed by her gentle warmth. I hope that, at least, for now, you each can see her and feel her with you through each other & the grandchildren in the very ways & things they do and say, think and feel. That your own personal memories will bring each of you the comfort and peace to help you and strengthen you until you can be together again. Determined would be the word that I would use to best describe Edith! If anyone could move mountains, this was the lady that would do it!! A couple days after Carly was born, she took the bus (if I remember right!) up to Thunder Bay to help us out, 2 boys at home, Lorna low on energy, and me working!! She was such a help, and a whirl wind of energy at the time we needed it!!

It has been a pleasure to reacquaint myself with Sister Hegarty over the past several years. I've always thought of her by that name and was happy to see her a few years back at a women's day. I was sad to hear of her passing as I did not realize she was sick and saw her not too long ago. I have fond memories of her from growing up in the 3rd Ward. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.

I remember Edith as my Akela when I was a Cub Scout. I remember the fun crafts and games that we played, and going over to her house occasionally for a Cub activity. When I had the opportunity to be a Cub leader, I used some of those same activities that Edith had planned for us. I'll always be grateful for the service that Edith rendered and the example she set for me when I was a young boy in Cubs. It was fun to introduce our children Edith, this past Christmas, and to explain that she was my Akela (that was a long time ago). Our prayers are with her family and I'm glad that she was able to complete her earthly mission with honour and dignity.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Edith. We miss both of you down here. We are glad that Edith does not have to suffer anymore and you know you will see her again. Love, Edith and Jack Alexander

Lord, I know you have welcomed my mother with open arms. She is in a place where she has reunited with loved ones that have already passed. I pray you wrap your loving arms around those of us who will miss her, and give us comfort in knowing we will one day see her again. Especially please be with Trevor and bless him in the coming months, help him nurture his broken heart. I am grateful to have had Edith as my mother, and I have many warm and loving memories to reflect on. It is her laughter, determination, honesty, warmth and thoughtfulness that I will miss most. Trevor I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for being a friend and a partner to my mother. My mother was a very passionate and giving individual. I am sure at times it was very challenging to share your time with mother's numerous passions. I know mother loved the church and it energized her to participate in spreading the gospel. My family and I would like to express our sorrow of your's and ours loss of mother. Our thoughts are of you at this time. May we all find comfort in the fonds memories we have of mother.
