Passed away peacefully in the early morning of Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Fairhaven Long Term Care Home in Peterborough in her 94th year. Beloved wife of Norman (D. 2011) and loving mother of Shirley (Brad), Eric (Kendra), Alan (Liz), Wayne (Paul) and Ron (Linda). Dear grandmother of Bronwyn, Nicole, Erin, Kaleigh, and Kristin. Born and raised in Quebec City, but having spent more than 60 years in the Peterborough area, Edna retained traces of her French mother tongue, until very recently. She will be remembered for her early life career as singer and musician with her sister, Betty (d. 1987) known as the Julien Sisters Duo in Quebec City, her love of travel and the re-discovery of her talent with artist’s brush and canvas in the 1980s, which led to the production of works of art shared with family and friends over the years. Her flair for pie making was reflected in “Edna’s Pies” which were part of the regular menu at Jake’s Restaurant on Lansdowne Street. Visitors to the M B Flea Market in Lakefield could also find her pies there, at a stall she shared with Norm for several years. At Fairhaven, she sang in the Vintage Voices choir, was often at church services, helped with the indoor gardening chores, played bingo, and rarely missed “Happy Hour” where she always consumed her two drink limit of rye and coke. Special thanks to Dr. Lunn and all staff who made Edna’s final years at Fairhaven so special. A private Celebration of Edna’s Life will be held at a future date, with notification made to those concerned as the event approaches. Final arrangements entrusted to COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME, with interment of her urn to take place at LITTLE LAKE CEMETERY at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.comstockfuneralhome.com. A tax-deductible financial donation to the FAIRHAVEN FOUNDATION in Edna's memory would be gratefully received, if so desired. www.fairhavenltc.com
