Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Bigelow), married 70 years. Much loved father of Linda Grass. Predeceased by his parents Stella (nee Mann) and Everett Grass and his siblings Martha, Bessie, Art, Joe, Barney, Coral, Ruby, and Emma.
Ed was born in Dexter, Ontario on the family farm. He served overseas during WW2. After the war he met his future wife Phyllis and moved to Peterborough. Ed worked at the General Electric and Outboard Marine. He founded Safeway Driving School with Phyllis and they taught drivers education for many years. In their retirement, Ed and Phyllis travelled across Canada and the USA. Their biggest joy was spending time at home especially with their daughter Linda.
The family will receive friends at COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, on Monday, December 18th from 2-3 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Interment at Emily Cemetery at a later date. In memory of Ed, donations to The Peterborough Humane Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Charity of Choice would be greatly appreciated by his family.
