Elizabeth Strojwons Ball

Elizabeth (Liz) Ball left this world suddenly and peacefully on October 5, 2022, at the age of 68. Born to Dimitro and Barbara on September 27, 1954, she was their only daughter, and sister to the late Edward and Robert. Liz had two children together with Stephen Ball: Laura and Diana. She was a loving aunt to her nieces, Suzanne and Anna, and her nephews, Greg and Paul.

After completing school, Liz went on to work at General Motors for 30 years. She was a proud union member, and had many fond memories and friendships from her time working on the line and in the offices. After retiring from GM, Liz spent time travelling the world, particularly enjoying cruises that took her to places with a lot of history, such as Greece and Egypt. In time, she settled into the life of a "snowbird", spending her winters in Florida, and her summers trailering in Peterborough. Whether in Florida or Ontario, Liz loved to swim, and could be found at the pool nearly every day with her friends. But more than travelling and swimming, Liz loved animals, having had many pets throughout her life. She had loved her cats Tabitha, Suzy and Cleo, and her dog, Daisy. Daisy was her constant companion for the last 14 years, and brought much love and joy to her life. Liz also loved to cook, mastering not only the traditional Ukrainian dishes she grew up with, but also everything from homemade pizza to curry dishes. She knew the importance of quality ingredients, and took joy in cultivating a garden that supplied her with fresh herbs and vegetables, and even some catnip and grasses for her cats.
