Cherney, Erica - passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 16th, at her home, at the age of 84. Erica’s passion and personality were central to the many communities to which she was unwaveringly dedicated. She brought much direction, insight and a “get stuff done” attitude to the business world, the arts, the Liberal party, her love of Israel and commitment to Judaism, and to Peterborough. Her accomplishments are many and her influence has been far-reaching.Life took Erica from her place of birth, Ottawa, to the US, and back to Canada. Each place carries a story of its own. The common thread throughout was simple: never stop giving. Giving her time, her caring, and, most notably, her wisdom, Erica gave countless people stories of their own. For her lessons of ‘focus on what matters’ and ‘work to your potential’, we are all forever grateful. She was born February 3, 1932 in Ottawa, Ontario.Erica was predeceased by her parents, Max and Grete Cohen, her brother Ed Cohen and her husband of 13 years, Harry Cherney.
