

WHEELER, Frank Philip – Retired Sheet Metal Worker. Long time member of OFAH. Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, May 21, 2011 with his family by his side, after a brief illness, in his 81st year. Predeceased by his wife Beverley Wheeler (nee Hobson). He leaves behind his loving partner Anna Ellis. Loving father of Wayne (wife Anne) and Debbie Thompson (husband Denny Bryan). Cherished grandfather of Jesse (wife Alison), David and Andrew; Robin Thompson, and Nikki, Scott and Matthew Bryan, and great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Noah. Dear brother of Cody (wife Fran), Cole (wife Marilyn) and Nevada (wife Leona) and the late Elaine Rusaw (surviving husband Peter). Frank enjoyed a full life, shared with family and friends. A sheet metal worker, he retired from the trade working with Adamson & Dobbin of Peterborough. Frank had an unwavering love for the outdoors. Frank was born and raised in Hastings County. He learned the value of hard work, living off the land and love of outdoors at an early age. Most of his life was spent camping, fishing, hunting, feeding birds and just being “One with Nature”. Known as a quiet man, except for those who really knew him, he taught everyone around him to “Treat people with respect” and “Do the right thing.”
Visiting will be held at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, on Wednesday, May 25, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in the Comstock Chapel on Thursday, May 26 at 11 am. Donations in Frank’s memory, to the Canadian Cancer Society or PRHC Foundation, would be gratefully acknowledged. The family wish to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses at Mount Sinai (on the 18th floor) and PRHC (third floor ICU) for their kindness and care.
