It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the age of 80.

Gary was the son of the late Robert and Vera (Olan) Carr and was born and lived in Cavan township prior to residing in Ennismore, Peterborough and seasonally, in Treasure Island, Florida.

He leaves behind his beloved wife and soul mate, Jean (Hyland) and his cherished four children; Deborah Ralph, Barbara (Calvin) Craig, Patricia (John) Zeyen and John Carr. He was a loving and devoted Grandfather to Jeffrey Ralph, Kelli (Josh) Humber, Jennifer (Allen) Taylor, Patrick Ralph, Kayla (Derek) Andreoli, Sarah Zeyen and Jacob Zeyen. He was known as "Pa" to his great-grandchildren Adria Andreoli, Charlotte and Grady Taylor, Max and Mila Humber all with whom he adored.

Gary's infectious smile and good nature will be forever remembered by the Hyland family, the Olan family, David Ralph and his many friends, colleagues and neighbours.

Gary was the President of Bright Electric Ltd., an avid golfer, baseball player, and talented hockey player who captained many teams from his youth until he retired from old timer's hockey. Memorial Service on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Northminster United Church, 300 Sunset Blvd. Peterborough.
