Gerald Fredrick Hobbins

Passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough, surrounded by his 9 children, on October 22, 2021 in his 95th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Catherine Cecilia O’Brien (2003). Loving father of Jane (Karl) Kent, Pat, Frank (Cindy), Neil, Gary (Lori), Anne (Ken) Henry, Michael (Lisa), Nancy Lebeau (Rick Foley) and Marilyn Attle. Proud Papa to Ryan, Sean, Alexis, Lisa, Joe, Nicole, Derek, Beckie, Chris, Kevin, Brittany, John, Jessica, Ashley, Matthew, J.J., Alicia and the late Kayla and Robert. Great Papa of Taylor, Khloe, Owen, Everly, Lincoln, Lucas, Addie and Myah and Great-great Papa of Bella. Predeceased by his parents Patrick Hobbins and Mary Gooley, sister Eileen Courneyea, brothers John and Michael (World War II), brothers Dennis, Emmett (Dan), Leo and Maurice. Gerald was a life-long carpenter who took great pride in his work. He was also a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He was a deeply devoted husband, father and grandfather. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Hospice Peterborough, and Dr. Webster for their compassionate care. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains, 411 Reid Street, Peterborough on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. (by reservation only - Contact Comstock-Kaye at 705-745-4683 or sign up on-line at https://signup.com/go/zkhQjSV ).
