Helen’s family announces with sorrow her passing on February 29, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Edward Laverne Martin. Loving mother of Ted Martin (Carolin), Dan Martin (Judy), Gary Martin and Deb Amaral (Joe). Proud grandmother of Kim, Caitlin, Laura, Ben, Eli, and Zoe; and great-grandma of Mikayla, Mackenzie and Rhett. Dear sister of Tom Tendam (Jeannita), John Tendam (Bonnie) and Diane Wallis (Dave). Predeceased by sisters Angie Tendam and Marianne Rogerson (Danny), and brothers Bill Tendam (Karen) and Hank. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In keeping with Helen’s wishes, cremation will take place and a private family urn committal will be held at the Orono Cemetery. Helen’s family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by the nurses and specialized staff with Complex Continuing Care at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, as well as the kindness and support provided by the staff in Memory Lane at Seasons Clarington Bowmanville.
