

Davies, Irene – After a long and full life, on May 13, 2016 at the age of 98, our dear Mom quietly slipped away to join her beloved husband Kenneth (1995) and her much loved son Brian (2014). Loving and devoted mother to Susan and her husband Jim Scarlett, Roger Davies and his wife Kerri and Mark Davies and his wife Linda. Cherished Gramma to Sean and Jennifer; Klint, Karli, Kade and Justin; Jon, Jaclyn and Kaitlyn. Great grandmother to Dalton, Taylor and Sydney; Zac, Chase and Olivia; Theo and Spencer; Lauren and Rose; Ryan and Tyler. She will be deeply missed by her cousin Marjorie Reid and her dear friend Pat Tyson. Irene was born and lived most of her life in Toronto, raising her family in Etobicoke. Mom was a dedicated member of Queensway Baptist where she found great comfort and strength in her friendships and the deep roots of a faith that sustained her throughout her life. Mom was funny, kind and very talented with a needle. Her art, always signed “ID”, will be cherished by all generations of her family. Mom moved to Canterbury Gardens, Peterborough, in 2010 where she quickly made many new friends. The kindness and gentle care of the staff at Canterbury Gardens will not be forgotten. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Mom’s life on Friday, May 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Canterbury Gardens, 1414 Sherbrooke Street, Peterborough.
