It is with such sadness we announce the passing of Isidoro Caporuscio on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Maria Teresa (née Rossi, 2022) for over 55 years. Devoted father of Fabio and Sabrina, and proud Nonno of Amedeo, Veronica, Joseph, and Sebastian, who were the light of his life.
Born in Italy, on November 28, 1938, to the late Anna and Antonio Caporuscio, Isidoro was one of nine siblings and remained deeply connected to his family throughout his life. Loving brother to Luigi (late Maria), the late Armando (Ada), Vittorio (Teresa), Vincenza (Santino), the late Francesco (Teresa), Rocco (the late Giuliana), Gino (Eleonora), and Aldo (Anna).
Isidoro immigrated to Canada 57 years ago, where he built a beautiful life alongside his wife Maria and her family, with whom he shared a close and lasting bond. He will be dearly missed by his in-laws Silvana (Vittorio), Roberto, Lorenzo (Paola), Mauro (MaryJane), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, God children and dear friends across Canada, Italy, and the United States.
A hardworking and dedicated businessman, Isidoro took great pride in building his garage door business, forming many lifelong friendships along the way. He will be fondly remembered by special friends Joe Guarascio whom he loved like a brother, as well as Susana Morra.
Known as the ultimate joker, Isidoro had a sharp wit and a mischievous sense of humour. He loved sharing his “barzelette” and stories. Whether tending to his beloved garden—where he proudly grew an impressive variety of vegetables and plants—or cheering passionately for his favourite soccer team, Juventus, he embraced life’s simple joys with enthusiasm.
In his later years, he stayed closely connected to loved ones through his computer, cherishing every phone call, message, and visit. He enjoyed playing scopa, spending time with his grandchildren, and indulging in his well-known sweet tooth—despite always insisting he “never ate sugar.”
Above all, Isidoro was a loving, loyal, and devoted husband, father, Nonno, brother, uncle, and friend. He made everyone feel valued and welcomed, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains, 411 Reid Street, Peterborough.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.comstockkaye.com.
