November 20, 1942 – December 26, 2023
Jacques (Jack) Arbic spent nearly forty years in banking. During that time he moved many times. He sat on several boards; Epilepsy, Children’s Aid, and Cancer. He was a lifetime Lions member, working on many barbecues, bingos and Sportsmen Shows. Timmins is his home but everywhere he lived he made a home for his family. He always allowed his wife and children to follow their hearts and dreams.
In younger years he was the fastest fast ball pitcher in the north, played basketball, hockey and bowled a perfect game. He coached little children in bowling.
He was a man of few words, but always had a lap for his children, a hand for a pet and kiss on the forehead for his wife.
Jacques is survived by his wife of fifty years Lynne (Dakin). His daughters Stacey Hunt (Cyril) Carrie-Lynne Arbic and grand-daughter Celina Hunt (Jordan). He is predeceased by his parents Victor and Lena Arbic, his siblings Fredrick Arbic (Carol) and Theresa Valiere (John). He is survived by his siblings Isabelle Sargalis (Lionel), Noel Arbic (Paulette) and Suzanne Amendola (Dennis) and multiple aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
The family is extremely grateful for all the help from Dr. Morelli and the nurses at Hospice Peterborough for making Jack’s passing so peaceful.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday January 21, 2024, at the Peterborough Lions Community Centre 347 Burnham Street, Peterborough.
