Beloved husband of 58 years to Elizabeth (Betty) Chase. Forever remembered by sons Andrew (Drew) Chase and David Chase, daughter in laws Joy Chase and Lori Zakarow-Chase, grandsons Ethan and Aaron Chase. Pre-deceased by siblings Laura, Ivan, Glad, Beulah, Lois and Cliff. Remembered fondly as “Uncle Jimmy” or “The Big Guy” by many nieces and nephews.
Jim had a long career with 3M Canada working at various positions at the mine in Havelock, Ontario. His greatest passions included painting, hockey and listening to Elvis. Later in life, it was hard to find a coffee shop in the greater Peterborough area not touched by both his charm and witty personality.
Per Jim’s wishes and considering current social distancing requirements, at this time, the family will be having a private interment. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Pleasant Meadow Manor, Norwood for taking such good care of Jim these past few months.
The family strongly encourages you to share your memories and photos on the website. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada will be appreciated.
“We will forever look up to the skies as we watch you repaint the clouds of heaven.”
