Janice Mae Lyons

In her 81st year, born on January 30, 1939 in Toronto, Ontario, resided in Peterborough

Ontario. Janice was predeceased by her husband, Peter Lyons and her parents, Henry and Hilda Packer. Janice was sister to Walter (Marg) Packer, Charles (Mary) Packer, Jack (Joan) Packer. Janice is also survived by her 4 children; Patti Lyons (John) of Amherstburg,

Ontario, Jennifer Brown (Dave) of Peterborough, Ontario, Jeff Lyons (Kim) of Whitby,

Ontario and Tim Lyons (Heather) of Merritt, BC. Janice was the proud Grandma of 9

grandchildren. She was a retired Educator finishing her long career at Lady Eaton Public School in Omemee, Ontario. Janice enjoyed, with husband Peter, the hobby of Harness Racing and raced 2 fan favorites, Kingly Hour and Prides Brat. Janice also loved gardening and enjoyed boating in the Kawartha Lakes. Janice entered into rest peacefully surrounded by her family after a long struggle with multiple cancers, at Peterborough Reginal Health Center in Peterborough, Ontario on February 19th, 2019. At Janice’s request there has been cremation. There will be a family burial in the late spring when her ashes will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, Janice has requested any donations in her memory be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family wishes to thank the entire team of the Palliative Care Floor at PRHC for their support and kindness shown both to Janice and the family during this time.
