April 2, 1933 – February 10, 2026
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jean Marilyn Windrem on February 10, 2026 at Hospice Peterborough at the age of 92.
Predeceased by her husband Gord, parents Stanley and Mildred Lowes and brother Keith.
Jean is survived by her children Glenn (Jinny), Terry (Janice), Mary Anne (Chuck) and Kevin.
She will be missed by her Grandchildren Jennifer (Peter), Cindy (Pat), Hilary (Hani), Scott, Tyler, Brianna (RJ) and great Grandchildren Alicia (Cody), Victoria, Aiden, Zackary and Lucy.
Jean was a lifelong member of Bethel United Church, where she was the Local UCW President 3 different times and Executive Level for Presbyterial and Conference.
Jean and Gord were married at Bethel United Church in 1954 and operated the Win-Lowe Dairy Farm for many years. In that time she fed many farm hands and neighbours, opening her kitchen to anyone that was there, whilst raising 4 (perfect) children. In addition she worked full time for a number of years at the County Courthouse and Cherney’s.
Jean embraced her walking and took great pride in staying active. She had a deep love of music and travelled to various festivals which she called her “tonic”. The rhythm and shared energy of those gatherings filled her with happiness and a renewed zest for life. She was fondly referred to as one of the “Omemee Chicks”!
The family would like to thank the Dr.’s and staff at PRHC and Hospice Peterborough for their compassionate care.
The family will receive friends at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge St., on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel United Church, 90 Bethel Rd., Omemee, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Rev.
