Elfstrom, Joyce Lorna (née Ferguson), in her 87th year.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the warmth of her family’s embrace and compassionate caregivers at PRHC, Saturday, April 1, 2017. Cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, and dedicated community volunteer. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Douglas (d. 2000). Joyce brought light, humour, and wisdom to all whom she met. A vibrant, cheerful spirit, she loved singing, ice cream, and ballroom dancing, not necessarily in that order. She will be remembered with deep, abiding love by daughters Nancy (Philip) Smith and Evelyn (Cris) Maksimovich. Her grandchildren Nathaniel (Christina Wallwork), Alana (Ray Johnson), Ethan, and Hannah will forever treasure their memories of Nana. Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, ON. Gathering 11 a.m., Celebration 12 p.m. (Pastor Mark Murack officiating), Reception 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joyce’s name to Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation, Salvation Army, or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
