Judith passed away peacefully on December 2nd, 2025 at the Peterborough Hospice. Judith had two children, Carrie (Adam Norman) and Kevin Limkilde, four grandchildren Jake Somerscales, Brieanna Limkilde, Julia and Samuel Norman, and stepmother to Adele, Lynn and Patricia Foley. Judith was predeceased by her devoted and beloved husband, Gerry Foley, who passed away in 2015.
Judith dedicated her career to the post-secondary education system where she spent 24 years at Seneca College in various roles including Dean of Applied Arts and Health Sciences. She also spent 6 years as Dean of Health and Human Services at the Nova Scotia Community College and ended her career as Vice President Academic at Fleming College. Judith loved being an educator and especially loved all of the students over the years whose lives she touched – many of whom remained her lifelong friends.
Friends and family know well that Judith and Gerry loved to entertain. They held many holiday dinners and barbeques at their home in Claremont. Judith loved to cook and bake for people and showed her love and appreciation by making elaborate meals and delectable desserts.
Judith and Gerry also shared a love for gardening. Judith had the vision, and Gerry would happily execute her wishes. They had a good partnership.
They shared a life together surrounded by beautiful gardens, lifelong friends, family, wonderful food, and many beloved dogs, including Ella, Judith’s cherished basset hound and companion for the last 10 years.
A celebration of Judith’s life will be held at her home in Peterborough on January 17th, 2026 from 1-3 pm. Please contact her daughter Carrie ([email protected]) for additional information. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice, or adopt a dog, plant a tree or send a child to camp.
