Karl Joseph Robert Gleason

July 26, 1960 – April 19, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Karl Gleason, of Peterborough, Ontario, announces his passing on April 19, 2025, at the age of 64.

A dedicated firefighter, Karl proudly served his community with courage and compassion. He worked alongside fellow first responders including paramedics and members of the Canadian Red Cross, all of whom he considered family. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting and fishing, and he loved cooking and sharing meals with friends and family. Known for his warm heart, sense of humor, and loyal spirit, Karl was happiest in the company of those he loved.

He is deeply missed by his children: Steven Gleason, Melissa Gleason, and Ryan Gleason; his former wife, Wendy Parker; his cousin, Laura Gloin; his chosen family member, Ryan Preston; and his grandchildren: Greyson Gleason, Francine (Zee) Morales Uy, Scarlet De Brum, and Evelyn De Brum.

Karl will also be dearly missed by his colleagues in the fire service, emergency medical services, and the Canadian Red Cross, as well as his extended American cousins and many nieces and nephews who held him close to their hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough.
