Dear Carol,Shannon,Chris,and,Adam,and Ken's brothers and sister's,at this time I would like to pass on my condolences to you people on the passing of a husband, father, and brother, and to me a friend, and former teammate. Although I hadn't seen Ken in a while, the bond, and friendship, and most of all the good times we shared when we played baseball together, all came rushing back about two and a half month's ago when two other former teammates, and myself got together and had a good old fashion game of yuker, once again Ken played possum, and won in the end. They say you can tell alot about someone by the way they play the game, in Ken's case for me it was baseball, the thing I remember the most about him was he came to play, he competed straight up, there was no short cut, he was true to himself, and true to his teammates, he was his own man, and at the same time loyal to his team. I am sure he carried these same attributes in life, and when he got sick, and the night we played cards I sensed Ken never waivered tackling this bend in the road straight on the same way he would on the baseball diamond, or in life. Our faith in God teaches us that the Good Lord in His Divine Plan is never early, and never late, but right on time, I am sure for a wife, daughter, son, brother, and sister this is hard to understand. From me as a humble friend of Ken's I can only say to you I am sorry, and, to God I have to thank Him for allowing the person of Ken Leahy to have crossed my path in my life, and more importantly giving me the opportunity to call him my friend. May God bless you all, as you are in my thought's and prayer's. Take Care Mike Heffernan.

Hi Carol Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Shannon, Chris, Adam and Ken's extensive family and friends during this very difficult time. Ken's journey has ended. Dear Carol - Although we knew this news would come it stills seems not possible. I have thought of you and your family every day and wished for you strength for the journey. I will continue to do that in the the days ahead which I suspect will also be difficult. I commend you for the loving work that you have done. As most people would like to have their last days at home I think that you have given the greatest gift you could to Ken. I hope you are able to feel some some grace in having done that too.
