

Kerrie Elizabeth Taylor
January 5, 1972 – February 13, 2025
Kerrie Taylor, resident of Curve Lake First Nation, passed away at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 53 years. She was born in Peterborough and is the daughter of Warren Lee and Marjorie Taylor.
Kerrie was known for her strong sense of self and love for children. She worked many years at the Oshkiigmong Early Learning Centre on Curve Lake First Nation and the Rama Daycare as an Early Childhood Educator. Before, Kerrie was a Dealer at Casino Rama and Great Blue Heron Casino and was a PSW.
Kerrie took great pride in being Anishinaabe and enjoyed learning our cultural traditions. She also loved hearing stories of our past from our Elders and family members. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends on Buckhorn and Chemong Lakes. Kerrie enjoyed listening to old country music and writing lyrics. She also enjoyed playing baseball in the women's league in the summer months and was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan in the winter. She adored animals and leaves behind her dog, Kenzie.
Kerrie will be sadly missed but live on in the memories of her mother, Marjorie, and siblings, Melanie and Bryan. She leaves behind her Aunts Vicki, Emma, Janet, Blanche and Carol. Her Uncles Raymond and Bruno and many cousins.
Kerrie cherished her lifelong friendships, particularly the bond she shared with her dear friend Trevor and his beloved children and grandchildren. The moments she spent with Alisa, Peggy, and her childhood friends Leanne and Saga brought her immense joy and comfort.
A Celebration of Life will be held in early Summer 2025 at her parent's home on 9 Circle Drive, Curve Lake First Nation. An announcement of the date and time will follow.
