KING, Lawrence “Larry”
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lawrence (Larry) King announces the passing of our father on May 31, 2020 in his 91st year. He leaves to mourn 4 children….Bonnie Kiddell ( Alan), Lance ( Sue ) King, Scott ( Debbie ) King and Shelley King. His legacy also includes 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-, great grandchildren. Pre-deceased by 2 siblings William King and Betty Wurts, he also leaves behind 3 siblings, Wayne King, Carole Honey and Marilyn Roseborough and many other family and friends who will all miss him dearly.
Dad was born July 28th, 1929 in Waubashene Ont. He was a boat builder by trade starting with cedar strip boats at Peterborough Canoe Company, later moving on to build cruisers and to design the Ski Scooter now known to all as a Sea-Doo. He was a woodcrafter and right to the end he was creating in the workshop. He loved life and enjoyed every day, always with a smile. He had a natural curiosity and was always learning. He spent about 25 years living in Nova Scotia which he loved and had many close and wonderful friends. His lifeline to those far away friends was his cell phone which was never far from his ear.
Dad was quick to chat and meet new people. His charming smile and warmth will be remembered by all. We will miss his joy of life, readiness to go to a party or hop in the car to travel, he was still out walking every day. He will be missed and dearly remembered.
There will be no funeral at this time but a celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Peterborough and in Nova Scotia.
