Len passed away peacefully at PRHC Palliative Care on January 27, 2026. Beloved husband of Jeanette for 50 years and loving father of Andrew Wood (Carrie) and Lisa Tugnutt (Ron), proud Grandpa/Papa of Madison Wood, Jacob and Matthew Tugnutt and Andrew Wood. Predeceased by parents John and Elsie Arminio of Fitchburg, MA USA. Len leaves behind his brother John (Brenda) and nephew Nathaniel (Daniella) and extended family in Massachusetts, USA.
Len graduated from Boston University School of Public Communication with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting and Film in 1970. He emigrated to Canada in 1972 to take a job at CHEX Radio/TV in the newsroom. In 1981 he started teaching Broadcast journalism at Loyalist College in Belleville where he remained until he retired in 2010.
Len was a long time member of the Peterborough Motor Sports Club, a ham radio operator and avid cyclist. When he retired he and Jeanette spent many happy times in their trailer camping with their poodles and taking several trips to the Maritime provinces. He is greatly loved, deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Donations in Len’s memory may be made to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation or a charity of your choice.
