Life long cottage friend Lorne and "Mr Smith's boat" will be missed by all the Tripp family.

Our industry has lost a true legend. Lorne was a man of dignity and honour and I'm truly blessed for the time I got to spend with him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, his family and also his business partner Helen. The Peterborough & Kawartha Association of Realtors has lost a true friend.

Ken  Lloyd  ("Baldy") and my daughter Debbie wish to convey our sincere condolences to Ruthe and family.  Lorne was an old buddy of Ken since school days long ago.  He was one of only two of those old buddies still living.   Lorne and his brother Bev were very popular students at high school in Port Hope in those old days. Lorne then served his country during the war flying with the RCAF from India on operational missions against the Japanese fleet in the Sea of Japan. Post war, he served the people of Peterbough at his gas station in  the city and with his tow-truck at the site of road accidents in the surrounding area. Later, he serrved the city as a leader in the real-estate profession.  As with most successful men, he enjoyed the loving and devoted support of his dear wife, Ruthe, throughout his career, while raising their children until they established their own independence and moved on. 
Lorne and Ruthe were great and popular hosts at their cottage for barbecues and boat rides.
Farewell, Lorne, yours was truly "a life well-lived".

Just saw Lorne on Chex news and didn't realize his passing. I will always remember him as my godfather and friend. Now he will be joking around with my Dad and Mom once again. I'm glad Teagan and I stopped in to see the old cottage gang a couple of years ago. He will be missed

Farwell to a legendary boater , from Lorne's landing on the cove at Presqu'ile to the rocks at Alexandria Bay, he will be missed Bon Voyage !

My family has so many happy stories to share about this icon of Presqu'ile. He taught us all how to enjoy life and it is up to us now to maintain his memory by following his example. There is no doubt that he will be sadly missed by us all.

Many fond memories which cover 50 plus years. Lorne had a great sense of humour and provided us many a morning smile. A good friend you could count on whatever the situation.
