

Passed away after a short illness at Fairhaven Long Term Care, Peterborough at 94. Beloved wife of John “Jack” Henry Percival Oakley. Loved mother to Heather (Ken Ferguson), Cyndy DiCarlo (Mauro) and Phil. Loving grandmother to Adam, Charlotte, Mary and Toby DiCarlo. Great-grandma to Colton and Sloan DiCarlo-Bellissimo. Predeceased by her parents James and Ruth (Vandergrift) Baragar and stepmother Elise (McCarthy) Baragar, as well as her daughter Trudy. Remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Peterborough, Regina and Ottawa. Predeceased by seven siblings but remembered fondly by her remaining sister Betty Jerome (Bob) in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Loved children and did home care of children for many years in Ottawa and Peterborough. Also, a long-time employee at the concession at the Memorial Centre and Kinsmen Arena. Loved her flower gardening and houseplants. Very proficient at sewing, knitting, and baking. Always fun-loving and enjoyed spending time with her husband’s large family in Peterborough.
Visitation will be held at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre at 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, with the service at 1:30 p.m. Urn committal at Little Lake Cemetery. There will be a reception at 3:30 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 52, 1550 Lansdowne Street West. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salvation Army.
