Peacefully on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Extendicare Peterborough in her 87th year. Beloved wife for 61 years of the late Bruce Burfield. Loving mother of Dorothy (Tom) Nicholls of Alberta, Linda (Dan) Bliss of Peterborough, Rick (Jackie) of Douro, Brian (Elizabeth) of Cavan, and Karen (Dave) Drew of Cavan. Proud grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of nine. Maidie was the daughter of Richard and Dorothy Courtnage and she had eight sisters. She was a longtime member of The Salvation Army. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 7-9 pm at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by Maidie’s family.
