Margaret Joan Rehder

Margaret (Marg) Rehder passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on March 11, 2026. She was born fifth of nine children in Millbrook, Ontario to Bruce and Lillian Dawson. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary, Anne and Jessie as well as her brothers Brent and Roy. She will be missed by her brother George (Barbara) and her sisters Frances and Dorothy. Robert Rehder married Margaret in 1953. They were a loving team for almost 73 years of marriage. Together they raised 3 girls, Lynda (Neil), Nancy, and Jean (Andrew). She was predeceased in 2005 by her daughter Lynda (a concert pianist). Margaret has 6 grandchildren (Christine, Mary, Andy, Julia, Hannah and Samantha) and has 6 great-grandchildren as well (Abigail, William, Clara, Tyler, Zoey, and Jayna). Margaret worked at Fisher Gauge in Peterborough as a secretary and later at H&R Block as a tax consultant. Most of her life was spent running the home, raising her children and supporting her husband’s career at CGE. She helped build the cabin at their recreational property, was an excellent seamstress and cook, played bridge, loved music and enjoyed Bob’s hobbies of boats and sailing . Margaret and Bob moved into the Regency retirement home in 2018 and then Bob went to Fairhaven LTC home in 2023. Marg’s sense of humour, quick wit and loving care of her family will be missed by us all. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
