Maria "Mary" Misiaszek

Peacefully, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in her 78th year. Beloved wife of the late Edward Misiaszek. Loving mother of Katrina Granger (Sammy Mutembei) and John Misiaszek(Suzanne). Cherished grandmother of Liam, Lara, Jamie, and Michael. Dear sister of Alice Homonko (Michael) and sister-in-law of Stella Charleson (Peter). Fondly remembered by her nieces, Christine (Brian), Darlene and Kathleen (Reid). Mary graduated from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of Montreal School of Nursing in 1962 and worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement. Mary was a dedicated advocate for her patients. A tireless volunteer in her community, Mary could always be counted on to lend a helping hand whether it was in the role of Brown Owl for the Ennismore Brownies or to simply provide baking for a fundraiser. Special thank you to the staff at Fairhaven, the PRHC Palliative Care Team (especially Trisha and Sharon), Dr. Mallory, the PRHC Oncology Team, Dr. Swain and Dr. Munoz for their dedication, kindness and care.

The family will receive relatives and friends at St. John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock Street, on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service.
