

HARTIN, Maurice Elmer (W. W. II Veteran) – Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Fairhaven on May 13, 2012 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Helen Hartin (nee Woodcock) and Trudy Hartin (nee Eustes). Beloved father of Donna Manley and her husband Frank, Jo-Anne Debattista and her husband Reny, Elizabeth-Jane ‘Betty-Jane’ Mason and her husband Robert and the late Judy Chilcott (survived by husband Richard). Proud grandfather of Lee-Anne Balogh (Erik), Jennifer Debattista, Laurie Bradley (Sean), Erin Taraborrelli (John), Stephanie Mason (Shane Davey), Sarah Chilcott and great grandfather of Skylar, Avery, Camryn, Matteo, Luca, Eric, Brett and Victoria. Survived by his sisters Iva Jojola and Vera Hamilton. Predeceased by his parents Percy and Nellie Hartin, his brother Clifford Hartin and sister Bernice Hass. Maurice served with the Guelph Highlanders during W. W. II and returned home to work as an automotive machinist at Peterborough Automotive Supply Company for 43 years. He was an avid gardener and long-time member of the congregation at Springville United Church. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street.
