Peacefully at St. Joseph’s At Fleming on Saturday, April 16, 2011 in her 85th year. Muriel was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and as a young girl moved to Apsley to join her brothers and sisters at The Wagon Wheel (the family homestead); in her teen years she moved to Peterborough. She worked at GE and played on GE’s Ladies Industrial Control Softball Team in her late teens. Muriel will be missed by her two sisters-in-law Edith and Jean Coones and nieces Donna Sweeting of Peterborough and Darlene Gaffney of Langley, B.C. and many many nieces, nephews and their families. Muriel was predeceased by her husband George Hudson; her parents William John and his wife Katherine (nee Bullied) Coones; sisters Madeline and Helen and her husband Ivan Jensen; and brothers Robert, Harold, Fred and his wife Elsie and Max Coones. She will be deeply missed by her dear friend Bob. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street.
