Born October 25, 1957, aged 68, passed away in bed on the morning of February, 25, 2026, at Springdale Country Manor. He was a gentle, warm, funny and creative person, as well as a dedicated and selfless family man who will be missed by many. Randy was a carpenter, who built many homes and buildings in the communities which he lived. He was a father of two boys, Randy and Jerrod, who always looked up to him. He was a loving husband to Lynn, whom took care of him in his final years. Randy grew up in Peterborough and Oshawa, raised by his loving mother Fran Gavis. He spent cherished time with his grandparents Norm and Sylvia, who were very special to him. He also spent many memorable years in Upsala and Thunder Bay, where he lived with his uncle Ron, aunt Celine and their three daughters, Kim, Judy, and Jennifer, all of whom he loved. In Upsala, he also met his best friend, Mike Mcnabb, whom, like Randy loved fishing, and the outdoors. Randy also loved airplanes, and spent many happy days flying small planes. He was a music lover, who enjoyed listening to his favourite artists, including Captain Beefheart, and Iggy Pop. In addition to all of this Randy loved animals and had many dogs and cats throughout his life whom he loved, and who were very much drawn to his quiet and gentle nature. Randy was a wonderful and inspiring man, whom sadly passed on far too soon. But he will always be remembered by those who loved him the most.
