

Robert was the son of Carman (1966) and Reta (1989) MacAlpine of Seymour Township on November 10, 1934.
They had three children Bruce (2022), Ian of Peterborough and Sharon (Jan Tanjo) of B.C. Robert had 4 grandchildren (David, Kori, Rowen and Cedar) and three great children (Levi, Jordyn and Max).
Robert owned and operated Federal Business College for 8 years taught in Madoc High and then joined G.E. as an accountant in 1966 until he retired in 1992. Robert and Phylis owned a home in Florida (1989-1995) where they stayed 5 months a year as well as a home at Birdsall Beach before his final residence at Empress Gardens in Peterborough.
Robert had many hobbies such as gardening and home renovations. In later years, he enjoyed doing seek a word, sudoku and knitting prayer shawls. Robert and Phyllis knit 165 prayer shawls in total together. Once retired, they enjoyed travelling together to Europe Southern beaches and across Canada. Robert was a devout member of the Salvation Army Church and Free Methodist Church and looked forward to attending Sunday sermons. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26th, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough. Funeral Service Saturday 11 am at the Ashburnham Chapel. Reception, followed by interment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens.
