There was a remarkable love that my sister, Marcie and Bob had for one another.  It was a mutual love that many couples never experience in a lifetime here on this earth.  
Bob was a joyful man, and it radiated from him.  He loved the Lord with all of his heart.
Marcie walked him Home to his Heavenly Father.  That assurance of eternal salvation  will help with comforting us in our loss of  Bob.  He will be missed.

The Nelson's are saddened by the passing of Bob. Gordon and Bob first met at Peoples Church in Toronto in the early 1950s. For a brief time they both worked unloading freight cars in Toronto.  They were the best of friends for decades and both enjoyed a hearty laugh and more than one unforgettable road trip. They would hop in a car on a Sunday night after church and drive to Buffalo and back for something to do.  We often visited the Craigs in Nappanee and later enjoyed the hospitality of the Sullivan's in Ottawa. One summer we borrowed the Sullivan trailer and camped in the Maritimes for a week.  It was our first camping experience in the Cabot Trail, made possible by Bob's generosity.   We were blessed by his presence at Gordon's funeral in June of 2023.  We are saddened by his passing, but I am certain that both Bob and Gordon are enjoying God's presence in heaven together.   Daniel Nelson

Bob brought so much happiness to our lives. He was a fun and loving grandfather and a kind and caring beloved member of our family. We will always cherish our memories of good times spent with him and Marcie. We know he is at peace with Jesus.

Remembering a dear brother. I echo Julie Cullen's sentiments. Bob was full of life and humor. He would wave to people he didn't know.  His eyes sparkled with humor. I will miss his calls and teasing him about the Buffalo Bills. We sorrow not as others who have no hope. In God's presence is fullness of joy. One day we will be together again.

Marcie, Larry and I shared so many wonderful times together with you and Bob . How blessed we were to share so many laughs and good times . Bob was always full of life and what was so amazing was his recollection of bible verses . He had a wonderful sense of humour and a very tender heart ( although he didn’t want you to know he was an old softy ) . Thank you so much for your love and friendship . What peace to know we will all be together again some day .

I could never write a tribute to Bob that would adequately describe this man. He was the love of my life. We thoroughly enjoyed 28 years of marriage and they were wonderful. He had a sense of humour  like no other, and even wrote his own short obituary!! He said “short and sweet, no fuss”. His passing was very peaceful as he slipped into the arms of Jesus, and he was so looking forward to seeing the Lord face to face for all of eternity. I will miss you terribly, my love.

Bob was a person who had many decent qualities, a very bright mind and a great sense of humour.  He was generous, kind and made friends easily.  Whether he was singing barbershop, playing cards/games, whittling & woodworking, or just honking his car horn to wave enthusiastically at strangers for a good laugh, Bob was all in.

Bob loved the outdoors and passed that full appreciation of nature on to  his children. Many a happy return involved time at Canoe Lake, where Bob continued to camp long after Julie and Tim had grown up.

In later years the growing Sullivan clan had a few fun excursions to the Peterborough area, marking a couple of big birthdays at Dad’s and Marcie’s summer spot (who could forget the custom t-shirts “wife of Geezer” “son/daughter of Geezer” grandkids, in-laws, all similarly outfitted). 

Life is short, and though we were not frequently together, the death of a parent or sibling carries its own profound reckoning. Bob was the father of Julie and Tim, grandfather of JJ and Jana, Eric and Kate, great-grandfather of Noah and Theo, and father-in-law to John and Julia. Bob was one of six children, and is survived by sisters Jane and Joan; he was also the uncle to many nieces and nephews. Rest in peace Dad, Bob.
