Wonderful and loving husband of Carol May Cotter, passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, June 28, 2014, after a brave fight with his illness. We lost our best friend, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather of his buddy Jayden and great-granddaughters Ciana and Violet. He will be sadly missed by his children; Janice (Scott), Denise (Ken), Darlene (Al), Charlene (Donny) and son Tracy, their mother; Terry Hall-Cotter, and 7 grandchildren; Shannon, Megan, Christine, Candace, Jordan, Dana, and Alana. His stepchildren since 1985 were as his own, and he cherished his relationship with each one; Sandy (Dave), Steve (Carolyn), Dan (Marjie), Dave (Becky), Kathy (Rob) and Chris (Duane). He adored his step-grandchildren; Samantha, Sean, Amber, Justin, Clay, Jordyn, Brienna, Laura, Emily, Matt and Chris. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Ron was a 38 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He loved the outdoors and greatly enjoyed his retirement in Buckhorn, Ontario. He had good reason to be very proud of all the work he did, renovating their home there. He loved living within a community of friends and neighbours who always pitched in to help each other with on-going projects.
Ron loved sports and will be forever remembered as the ultimate fun-loving host to his buddies.
Each day with Ron was a blessing and we thank all the family, friends and neighbours for their continued support.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. Reverend Ruth Adams will officiate. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.comstockfuneralhome.com.
