Dear Roz,
I am sad to read of your passing. Over the years, I thought about you and the ways you touched my life. Even though I spent only 6 weeks with you in your lovely home in 1998, I learned so much about so many things that are important in life. For example, my appreciation of flowers and herbs that we cared for together in your charming garden inspired me to further explore their uses, and now I really love them! I remember we went shopping together for roses, and you bought a "Shropshire Lass," which caught your attention as you were also from Shropshire. I liked how your favourite cat, Cotia, strolled about the garden, and she liked one of the Japanese students who were renting a room in your home. We shared a love of horses and I accompanied you to your riding lessons. Your horse was a magnificent dapple grey gelding. You talked a lot about Annaliese and how proud you were of her and her work with horses. It's a shame I never had a chance to meet her. Your home was filled with many interesting things, such as the numerous origami shapes, but the one I remember most is the genuine beehive by the window. My time with you left a lasting impression, and I am glad to have known you. Thank you for the memories! Dorothy

A bit shocked to find that Roz , has died. I have been wondering how she was for some time. I sent you 2 photos some time ago and did not get a reply. I hope she had a peaceful ending. My heart goes out to you.
As you know I had some wonderful times with your Mother. She was always good fun, stimulating and kind company. Please get in touch with me.  Love Julia

Dear Annaliese, Your Mom was a 'force' indeed and I so appreciated her for it. If she wasn't busy organizing, planning, or coordinating a clinic, event, trip, or a dinner party she knew just the right person to 'convince' to get on board. She was always interesting, and interested and I cherished our many chats, whether at the barn or over G&T's at Casa Farber. A big hug to you and yours and my sincerest condolences.

This is a picture of Roz on the right in her wedding finer, my father George in the centre and Roz's good friend Clare [sister of George] on the left. It was Clare's son Kim that was getting  married.

My dear girl...Roz's opening salvo whenever we met.  I'm Roz's goddaughter. And what a Godmother she was.  From rollicking dinner parties to lessons in marmalade making we always had good fun.  I'm adding 3 photos taken in 2002?  We attended the wedding of cousin Kim in London.  Above is Roz with my father George somewhere in London.

My biggest memory of Roz  is of endless laughter together.
She was such a warm, outgoing person to those who knew her well.
Her project for CBC with Haida people’s culture always fascinated me.
Roz was brilliant in any number of affairs.  I never got tired of listening to her work for CBC . I first met her on the Board of the Opera Guild in Port Hope.She took up violin studies in her 80’s. In fact, she had a music room built onto her house.
She loved to gather people around her.  For one party she held, she made several South Eastern dishes, but the pull of the crowd was much more interesting than watching over pots of curries bubbling away on her stove. I became food watcher and stirrer  then server. She certainly  knew how to entertain  and she loved it.


I loved Roz so much. What a lively, intelligent person she was. Her death leaves a hole in my heart.

Annaliese,
I have so many wonderful memories of your mom.  I particularly remember our 2012 trip to London, with all of it's ups and downs.  There was never a dull moment?  She was a 'force of nature' and had a genuine interest in people and all aspects of the world around her. and had a real zest for life!

I am so very sorry to hear that Roz has left us. She was a force of nature, and no one who met her could ever forget her. My sincere condolences to all who loved Roz.

While we were neighbours, Roz joined us in many short trips out of town to go to the opera, the theatre or art exhibitions. This photo was taken when we went to see a retrospective of Joe Fafard’s work at the McMichael Museum in the summer of 2008.

Roz was indeed a ‘force of nature’ even into her senior years.  What a lovely memory.  It was an absolute pleasure to meet her.  Gone,  but not certainly never to be  forgotten.  Sincere condolences on the loss of your dear mum.  Marina Arpaia & Scott Ritchie

Oh Roz, what fun we had organizing clinics, having meals together and laughing at every and anything that struck us as funny. Your wit and generosity were legend and you've now left a hole in our lives that will not easily be filled. We will toast you today with a wine you would have loved and will remember you fondly my friend.
