Rosalind passed away quietly after a life full of laughter, adventure, hard work, world travel, dreams chased and dreams fulfilled. A force of nature she made an impression on all who met and worked with her, whether she cajoled, commanded, manoeuvered, flattered or just plain asked, once she had 'the bit between her teeth' she would give it her all to follow through.
Graduating from Cambridge University UK she worked as a teacher in London before heading out to North America. Coming to Canada for a weekend, she stayed for life. Meeting and marrying Horst Farber they added their daughter Annaliese to their little immigrant family. For 35 yrs she worked for CBC Television finishing as a producer of current affairs programs.
Outside of work and family her life was full. She returned to university to complete a BA then MA in anthropology at UofT. In Toronto she volunteered teaching at East End Literacy and working with ESL students. Later she supported the equestrian discipline of dressage through fundraising, leading programs for junior and young rider development and being chef d'equipe for senior teams at PanAm and Olympic games. And all the while travelling regularly all over Europe visiting friends and making new ones.
Dearest Rozzie, 'the Wizard',
Your passing leaves a big space full of so many memories.
Your biggest gift to me: to cherish, nurture and use one's independence, joie de vivre and generosity to the benefit of others and for oneself every single day.
So much love, Annaliese 'Daughter of Roz'
