Rose was my gr 5 teacher at St. Paul's in Peterborough and I am so grateful she came into my life at that time.  She was a kind and gentle person who loved to find the humour in people and life.  Imagine my surprise when I realized I had taught her grandson, Josh, 30+ years later!  Thank you, Rose, for being just the teacher I needed. I am so happy I saw you last year and we got caught up.

Dear Family of Rose Minaker,
Rose was my daughter's teacher in 1994/95 and was most likely one of her very best teachers. My daughter never forgot Rose and when my daughter returned to Peterborough during her university years she and Rose went out for ice cream. I would run into Rose occasionally and we had coffee and we would catch up on the latest news about my daughter and her family. I golfed with Rose and her good friend Anne. They even came to my cottage once to golf. 
 I was always in awe of Rose. She positively influenced so many children's lives during her teaching career. She was an amazing wife ,mother and grandmother. She soldiered on through serious health issues and turned that very difficult situation into a positive experience by volunteering and helping so many people in the same situation.  Rose was one of those rare stars in the universe that influenced  positively, so very many people; a unsung hero for some. Having had the privilege to have crossed paths with Rose in this lifetime has reinforced my belief that Angels walk amongst us.

My first teacher. (St. Pauls Kindergarten 1978)  Loved her so. She was kind and funny and patient. As I got older, I would visit her classroom often. Sometimes to chat, sometimes to help out with the younger kids.I was so happy when she told me we had same middle name. Oddly enough, my youngest's middle name is Rose. And each year a child of mine started kindergarten for the first time I would tell them about Mrs. Minaker. My sincerest condolences to you all. Thank you for sharing her with us. Pete and family I am sending my deepest condolences. Rose was such a great lady and I have so many fond memories of her. Please know that you are in my thoughts at this very difficult time. I will try my best to make it to Peterborough for the service.

Mrs. Minaker was my kindergarten teacher in 1979.

I remember her fondly from when I was 5. That should tell you something about her skills as a teacher and her kindness as a human being who worked with small children.

Rose was a woman of boundless love.  We will all miss her humor, her kindness,  her patience.  And that laugh.
