

In the afternoon of July 11th, 2025, Sheila Watt [1939-2025] in her 86th year, passed away at her home. She was a devoted Mom, wife, teacher and humanitarian. She cared for all people and desired to help make the world a better place. Her support of efforts like making quilts for young moms, helping vulnerable women and children escape abuse and poverty, and aiding underprivileged people around the world was evident in her volunteering and giving. She had a wonderful retirement enjoying the trailer at Miners’ Bay Lodge along with awesome travel adventures with her sweetheart, Doug, and friends. She endeavoured to keep family connected through communicating and visiting with family from Guernsey. Predeceased by her husband (Doug), mother (Irene) and father (John) along with her brother (Bob). She will be dearly missed by her loving children Brian, Melanie (Jason), Rick (Christine), and Jennifer (Remy). She is greatly loved by her grandchildren Alex, Emily, Caitlyn, Brooke, Hayden, and Lia. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, Grandma, and Nana. Sheila was passionate about many things including gardening, books, travel, jigsaw puzzles, her Trinity Church family, and spending time with friends and family. We love you, Mom. You are already deeply missed. A visitation (1:00 p.m.), memorial service (2:00 p.m.), and reception to follow will be held at the Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, ON, K9H 2A2 on Wednesday July 23, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peterborough YWCA.
