Susan peacefully passed away with her children at her side at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on April 14, 2023 aged 75. Loving mother of Ashley Lawrence-Leger and Daniel Lawrence-Leger. Dear sister of Kaye, Steve (Alex), Mark (Nancy), and Liberty. Very loved aunt. Sadly missed by many friends, neighbours and relatives.
Born to John and Margaret Lawrence in London England, Susan was an ESL Teacher at Fleming College and helped a great number of adults navigate the difficulties of coming to a new country and learning a new language. Susan enjoyed the arts, and she could be found at many community events or in her gardens. Our family remembers her positive attitude, constant passion for learning and activism.
In keeping with Susan’s wishes, she was privately laid to rest at Little Lake Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at Northminster United Church, 300 Sunset Blvd, on May 23rd from 1-4 pm. In honour of Susan, donations can be made to The YES Shelter.
