Terence Eugene Woods

WOODS, Terence Eugene; Peacefully on Wednesday, April 7th, 2010 of Peterborough in his eighty-seventh year. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Thomas). Dear father of Diane (Steve) Earle, Cathy (Eric) Boyd, Daryl (Marianne), Terry (Lynn), and predeceased by his beloved daughter Linda (1988). Dear grandpa of Michelle (Derek) Wagland, Chris Earle (Kendra), Jeff (Michelle) Boyd, Allison Boyd and Galen and Chloe Woods. Great grandpa of Madison and Ethan Earle and Jacob Wagland. Terry is also survived by his dear sister Doris Timmins, and his sisters-in-law Jean Haar (Jim), and Ethel Thomas. Terry was predeceased by his brothers Leo (Celie) Woods, Warren (Mickey) Woods, and his sister Virginia “Ginny” and brother-in-law Ozzie Timmins. Terry moved to Peterborough from Halifax at the age of 19 to pitch for the G.E. softball team. In 1951 he was MVP for the Peterborough Mens Sr. Softball League. Terry loved sports and gardening and took great pleasure in sharing his plants and tomatoes with his family, neighbours and friends. Visitation will be at the KAYE FUNERAL HOME ‘MEMORIAL CHAPEL’ 539 George Street N., on Sunday April 11th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. with parish prayers at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to celebrate Terry’s life will be at the Cathedral of St. Peter-In-Chains on Monday, April 12th at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
