Terry passed away peacefully with dignity and grace on Thursday, July 10, 2025 in the loving care of his partner, Norma McConkey-Curtis, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born September 4, 1954, the youngest of six children, to Maxwell (d. 1995) and Margaret Finn (Harpell d. 2017). Predeceased by his brothers Don (d. 1981) and Gerald (d. 2004) and nephew Joel Siegel (d. 2020). Loved beyond words by Lawrence (Amanda d. 2022), Maureen Siegel (Mark), Mary Anne Nadeau (Bill) and son Andrew.
Terry was a natural musician from an early age and learned to play many instruments. His love of music became a love of teaching when he opened Finn’s House of Music, where he inspired and supported many aspiring artists with stories and skills gained through his experiences in rock bands, social functions and life itself. In 2013, Terry was honoured with induction into the Peterborough Pathway of Fame.
Terry was graced by many friends and family who were privy to his wild narratives and outlandish jokes. Where Terry was, there was laughter, love and music.
Terry was cherished by his niece, Johanna Anderson (Joel Jamieson), the Finn nephews, Patrick, Andrew (Evelyn), Jonathan (Janice), Mark (Kathleen) and Sean (Claire) and captivated by the little ones who frequented his doors, Avett, Evan and Maya.
The family would like to express enormous appreciation for the excellent care Terry received from the PRHC and it’s nurses and doctors. In particular, we acknowledge Dr.’s Tom Richard, John Beamish, Laura MacMillan-Jones, Dr. Anjum and Dr. Kaetlen Wilson, who enabled Terry to rest comfortably in his final days.
A visitation will be held on July 17th, at the Showplace Lounge, 290 George St. N., Peterborough, from 1 to 3 pm followed by a celebration of life at 3:15 pm. The celebration will also be available by LiveStream - go to comstockkaye.com, scroll to Terry’s page, scroll to Services, click Join LiveStream. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the PRHC Foundation, Peterborough Humane Society or the Peterborough Musicians Benevolent Association PMBA.
