William “Bill” Blodgett, proud and loving father of Roslynn Blodgett (Chris Hayley) and Mark Blodgett. Son of the late Ken and Bernie Blodgett. Beloved brother of Jean Condon (Bob) and Joe Blodgett and fun-loving uncle to Tracy, Andrea, and Ryan Condon. Will be sadly missed by close family friend Jamie and many cousins.
Bill spent 31 years employed by PCO/Orkin Pest Control, finishing his career as a Quality Assurance Manager. He was extremely proud of his work and took great enjoyment in his career.
In 2009, Bill experienced a life-altering stroke. True to who he was, he refused to let this stop him from living fully. He showed remarkable resilience and determination, adapting at every stage—first driving a modified car, then transitioning to a modified bicycle, and eventually to a scooter, which he used to enjoy many trails throughout the Peterborough area. Bill became a world traveler following his stroke – going on cruises, to all-inclusive resorts and an unforgettable journey to Las Vegas with his cousin Brian.
Bill attended weekly exercise and swimming programs at the YMCA, graciously supported by the March of Dimes. He also found great enjoyment and friendship through the Life After Stroke and Aphasia programs, which meant a great deal to him.
Bill loved watching television and especially enjoyed music by the Eagles. He enjoyed a cold beer and suicide wings that would make him sweat. His determination, positivity, and love of life were an inspiration to all who knew him.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s at Fleming for their compassionate care and kindness toward Bill.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home – 840 Armour Road, Peterborough on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM, with Words of Remembrance at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the March of Dimes Canada would be greatly appreciated.
